A solitaire card game, © by Bill de Veas, 2021-01-19.
In BEOR, you play cards from your hand to one of four bases, according to that base's theme (black, even, odd, or red), then draw a card from that base's associated stock pile. If you are unable to play a card, you lose.
This game uses a standard French-suited card deck with no Jokers.
Draw cards from the top of the deck until you get 4 cards where one is black, one is even, one is odd, and one is red. Lay out these four cards side-by-side, in that order, as "bases". Shuffle excess drawn cards back into the deck.
Next, draw the top four cards into a hand and set the hand aside.
Finally, deal the remaining 44 cards face-down into 4 stocks of 11 cards, each stock adjacent to one of the base cards.
Play a card from hand onto one of the bases, according to that base's theme (black, even, odd, or red).
Then, draw a card from that base's associated stock.
(To be clear: You may not draw unless you play a card, and you may not play on a base that has no stock.)
These cards have additional effects:
Winning conditions:
You lose if you cannot play on any base that still has a stock pile of more than 1 card.
This is unlikely, but it can happen — for example, if the odd and black bases are the only ones with stock piles, but the player holds only even red cards.
BEOR is also available as a multi-player game.
